Final Shows for ‘Visiting Hour’ at Rogue Theater

The final run for Rogue Theater’s Visiting Hour is this weekend, Sept. 21-23. Visiting Hour is a Spanish play written by José Luis Alonso de Santos and translated into English by Phyllis Zatlin. This is Zatlin’s second translation performed by Rogue Theater.

This play addresses the growing concern of suicide and coincides with National Suicide Prevention Month.

Visiting Hour, directed by Stuart Champeau, includes a cast of three: Lisa, played by Keri Grimsley, a young woman who is distraught by the pressures of life and tries to commit suicide; Joyce, Lisa’s mother, played by Lola DeVillers, draws on her wacky talents of singing, dancing, and telling jokes to revive her daughter’s desire to live; and a nurse, played by Amanda Sallinen, who shows the wear and tear of her high-pressure job.

The show plays at 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday and 2 pm Sunday at Rogue Theater, 340 Jaycee Ct., Sturgeon Bay. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. For more information and ticket reservations call 920.818.0816 or visit facebook.com/roguetheater.
