First Concert a Success Despite Snowstorm

Wednesday Dec. 9 will go down in history at the Holiday Music Motel: Jackson Browne makes it through the biggest snowstorm since 1990 to perform for 42 people in an intimate acoustic house concert – the first ever at the Holiday Music Motel.

It started to look like it wasn’t going to happen, as though all of the planning and preparations might get thwarted by a winter storm. There was a great sense of relief when Browne walked into the Holiday Music Motel Tuesday afternoon, smiling despite his long travel from Des Moines where he performed the previous night.

While Browne had arrived safe at the motel, he was deeply concerned, however, about the safety for those who needed to travel to Sturgeon Bay for the concert. Browne asked that the Holiday send out a message telling people to not risk getting caught in the storm, that he would come back to do another concert for them in 2010. Cancellations by worried travelers were immediately filled by nearby residents, and those who needed to cancel will have their tickets honored at the next concert.

A storm that might have devastated this concert or broken the hearts of those who couldn’t make it turned out to be a snow-covered gift: Jackson Browne is coming back! Details for the next concert will be announced in the near future. For more information visit http://www.HolidayMusicMotel.com.
