First Run of the Season

The Door County Silent Sports Alliance (DCSSA) will host a Run the Door Kick-off/Fun Run and Walk at 6 pm on April 21. The run begins and ends at the Door County Fire Company, 38 S. Third Ave., Sturgeon Bay. Participants are urged to arrive by 5:45 pm so they’re ready to run or walk at 6 pm.

Run the Door is a race circuit, administered by the not-for-profit DCSSA, that includes 14 running events in Door County from May 2 through Oct. 31. Runners score points for participation, but also can earn additional points for performance on the circuit designed to encourage fitness and a healthy lifestyle at independently produced races from Brussels to Gills Rock.

Kick-off Fun run participants do not need to be registered Run the Door runners or DCSSA members to take part, but do need to sign a waiver. Refreshments will be served afterward.
