Fishstock Reels In 10 Artists for 2024 Season

While folk is the focus of the annual Fishstock concert series, genres from jazz to bluegrass to Dixieland are represented in this year’s 10-show lineup as well.

Each concert begins at 7 pm at the Fishstock Concert Barn, 3127 Cty F in Fish Creek, with pre-show music starting at 5:30.

General-admission tickets will be available at the box office for $20 per person starting at 6 pm before the concert (or 5 pm for the finale concert starring Eric Lewis and Friends.) Reserved-seating tickets can be purchased for $25 per person at doorcountytickets.com, and admission for children 12 and under is free. 

June 30: Great Lakes Rhythm Kings Dixieland Band

Using clarinet, trombone, trumpet, piano, bass and drums, this six-piece Dixieland powerhouse has been playing in Door County for 45 years as of 2024. Their Fishstock show will be dedicated to Martin Henry, a former trombonist in the band who recently died.

July 7: Will Kruger

This nationally-known guitarist, singer-songwriter and John Denver tribute artist has been pickin’ and singin’ since age 14. Kruger’s musical roots go back to the folk era, influenced by the likes of  Peter, Paul and Mary, Simon and Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor. His show will be Fishstock’s annual environmental awareness concert.

July 14: Brittany Jean

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, this singer-songwriter has played everything from house concerts to full-fledged auditorium sets. The music she plays is largely original, but she peppers in covers from her favorite artists like Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks and Judy Collins. Her four studio albums highlight her beautiful voice and personal lyrics.

July 21:  Caravan Gypsy Swing Ensemble

Though this band is based in Madison, Wisconsin, their sound has carried throughout the world. The instrumental ensemble pulls from American jazz, European folk music, traditional Latin sounds and Parisian waltz to create their own unique style, with Romani-Belgian guitarist Django Reinhardt serving as their primary influence.

July 28: Stas and Mischa 

Stas Vanlevski and Mischa Litvin flow through classical, folk and traditional music during their shows together. Vanlevski plays the bayan, a Russian accordion, while Litvin plays the mandolin and the domra, a Russian version of the same instrument. Both have toured extensively, bringing their music across the globe with them. 

Aug. 4: Handpicked Bluegrass

Top-notch instrumentation and tight vocal harmonies, spearheaded by lead vocalist Sue Cronick, bolster this high-energy band as they play a blend of contemporary and traditional bluegrass. Based in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, the band blends vocals, banjo, mandolin, bass and guitar during their upbeat shows.

Aug. 11: Mad Agnes

Intricate harmonies, compelling songwriting and passionate delivery are the backbone of this trio’s genre-bending sound, which incorporates keyboard, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, piano, melodica and three-part harmonies. During shows, the band’s original songs are interspersed with storytelling and vocal improv, and their easy onstage presence invites the audience to join their fun.

Aug. 18: Janet Planet

This jazz vocalist can sing sweet and pretty, but she can also come on strong with a big voice that never wavers out of control. A six-time Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Award-winner, Janet Planet was inducted into the WAMI hall of fame in 2014, and in 2017, she was nominated for a Grammy.

Aug. 25: Mark Edgar Stuart

Lovable and literary, smart yet plain-spoken, this singer-songwriter’s voice is contagiously honest. The stories he tells in his songs are those of a resilient, relaxed artist who has been widely embraced in his adopted hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. 

Sept. 1: Eric Lewis and Friends

Eric Lewis and Friends will return to Fishstock for the final show of the season. Originally from East Tennessee, Lewis grew up listening to his grandfather playing the banjo and his mother playing the guitar. Now, the multi-instrumentalist plays many musical genres, returning to Door County venues regularly throughout the years.
