Fred and Fuzzy’s, Little Sister Resort Listed for Sale

Longtime owners Greg “Fuzzy” Sunstrom and the family of the late Fred Luber have listed the Sister Bay staple Fred and Fuzzy’s Waterfront Bar and Grill and surrounding Little Sister Resort for sale at a price of $5.95 million.

The sale includes both businesses on 12.21 acres with three permanent piers on 400 feet of shorefront. The property also includes 22 rental units, a home, office and large barn.

Sunstrom and the Lubers have operated the resort property for more than 40 years and the restaurant since it opened in 2001. Although a staple of Door County’s summer experience for many tourists and locals, Sunstrom said the decision to sell was with retirement in mind.

“I’m 64 years old and neither us nor the Lubers have any family that’s interested in running it,” Sunstrom said. “So who knows, it could sell tomorrow, it could be five years. We just thought it was time to start looking at other options.”

Frequently considered the best place to watch the sunset in Door County, Sunstrom recognizes the property as a prime spot for condominiums or dense private development.

“We had looked at developing it ourselves at one point,” Sunstrom said. “Looking at duplexes, that type of thing, and then a little denser development down by the water.”

“It’s probably going to be developed,” Sunstrom said. “Hopefully it’s done to keep with the surrounding area but of course you don’t know that that’s what’s going to happen.”

The property is listed with Craig Bastian of Kellstrom-Ray and Sunstrom said they already have some interested buyers.
