Fresh, Tranquil and Charming

“Garden Chairs” by Stacey Small Rupp.

Watercolorist Stacey Small Rupp will be the featured artist at Cottage Row Framing & Gallery, August 10 – 16. There will be a “meet the artist” reception on Aug. 13, 1 – 3 pm.

Rupp has been painting the Door County landscape for more than 20 years. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin – Stout in 1992, she started with watercolors and never looked back. As a native of Door County, her work captures its “spirit” – fresh, tranquil and charming are words often used to describe her work. With a strong background in composition, she enjoys creating movement and balance.

Recently, Rupp participated in her first plein air competition and won the People’s Choice Award. Her piece “Snug Harbor” has been printed by the Door County Maritime Museum as a poster for their Wooden Boat Show in August.

Cottage Row Framing & Gallery is located at 9197 Hwy 42, ½ mile south of Fish Creek in the big red barn at Orchard Country Winery. The gallery is open daily 10 am – 5 pm and Sundays 10 am – 4 pm. For more information call 920.868.2626 or visit cottagerowgallerydc.com.
