Fundraising For High School Trips

Gibraltar Music Boosters, the fundraising arm of the Gibraltar High School music program, is raising funds to enable students to participate in programs offered by the Disney Imagination Campus (DIC) in Orlando, Florida. Their upcoming Florida trip is scheduled for  March 13-19, 2024.

Band and choir students at Gibraltar can participate in innovative-learning workshops and performances at DIC every four years. They were scheduled to attend such programs in 2022, but the pandemic interfered with these plans. Because Gibraltar’s band and choir programs nearly disappeared during the pandemic, those involved had to wait until participation numbers and skill levels returned to meet DIC’s requirements again.

Donations to the Gibraltar Music Boosters will help offset the cost of the trip for students who qualify for financial aid. The first 25 donors will receive a perpetual calendar with photographs by Gibraltar students. The full cost for one student is $2,700; $600 will match a student’s contributions; $300 will cover bus fare; $200 will cover hotel fees; $50 will cover meals; and $25 will cover workshop tuition. Other increments will go toward the general fund.
