Funneling Experiences to Music

Woodwalk Concert Series welcomes Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer Aug. 22 at 7 pm. McGraw and Fer are an American folk rock singer-songwriter duo out of northwest Washington State. This duo is new to Woodwack Concert Series, but you may have heard them on Simply Folk.

Natural explorers, McGraw spent a decade as a wildlife biologist, working everywhere from Mexico to the Grand Canyon. Fer logged some time in Spain, where she studied music and local culture. Together, they have built a music career on those travels, funneling everything they learned, into a mix of rich, detailed folk music and rootsy Americana.

Roots Music Report says, “…Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer have a knack for capturing the passionate beauty of original contemporary folk music. Evoking tranquility and reflection, their frank lyrics and life-affirming tales are woven around melodic lines that hold the fabric together…”
