Glass Creations at Heritage Program

Sister Bay Historical Society’s Heritage Program on July 4 will feature artist Gary Chaudoir. He will display his work at the Historical Society’s Corner of the Past, located 1½ miles south of Sister Bay just off Highway 57 at 10310 Fieldcrest Road from 8:30 am until noon.

Chaudoir has been working in stained glass in northern Door County since 1978 and in fused glass since 1996. He specializes in custom stained glass and fused glass commissions. He has created works that can be seen throughout Door County and other parts of the state. Last year Chaudoir’s glass-covered egg representing the four seasons was one of the featured works at the Egg Harbor Eggstravaganza celebration.

His demonstration at Corner of the Past will include a glass cutting demo, display of raw materials and a kiln firing. He will also have finished glass art and jewelry pieces for sale.

For several summers the Sister Bay Historical Society has held its Heritage Program with local artists every Saturday morning throughout the summer, in addition to the Saturday morning farmers’ market. For more information, call 920.854.7680 or visit sisterbayhistory.org.
