Government Issues Green Grant

Through the end of 2010, farms, businesses, and communities can benefit from a federal treasury grant that pays back 30 percent of the cost of installing renewable energy systems. This incentive coupled with the Focus on Energy, WE Energies, and WPS programs will insure quick pay back.

“If you’re in WPS or WE Energies territory and you’ve been thinking about renewable power for your home, farm, or business, now is the time to do your homework and make a decision. We don’t know when conditions will be this favorable again,” said Alicia Leinberger, Development Coordinator for Seventh Generation Energy Systems.

The Federal grant requires that the project be started by the end of 2010 and completed by the end of 2012. By stacking the incentives, customers can get from 50 percent to 70 percent of their renewable energy system paid for up front.

To find out more, join Seventh Generation Energy Systems and EcoManity for two community meetings on Friday, September 10. The first meeting will be held at 10:30 am in Room SC128 of NorthEast WI Tech College, located at 2740 West Mason Street, Green Bay. The second meeting will be held at 2 pm at the Ledge View Nature Center, located at W2348 Short Road, Chilton.
