Grassroots Committee Proposed For Reopening Ski Hill

A longtime skier and skiing coach wants to form of an ad hoc committee “to look at the feasibility of reopening the ski hill” at Potawatomi State Park and invites anyone interested to meet Monday, Jan. 29 at 6:30 pm in a conference room at the YMCA Sturgeon Bay Program Center, 1900 Michigan St. The ski hill closed in 1998 due to a lack of volunteers, who were responsible for its maintenance.

A Sturgeon Bay-area resident for 10 years, Dana Wangerin was involved in the formation of Wisconsin Junior Ski Racing and coached Kewaskum and West Bend high school ski teams.
