Griffon Receives Grant From Project: Music Heals Us

Midsummer’s Music’s resident string quartet, the Griffon String Quartet, has received a grant from Project: Music Heals Us for 2022 to support its work with marginalized residents of Door County. The award focuses on those who may not have access to live performances because of their economic or life circumstances, health care needs or location.

Drawing from its B Double Sharp program – in which the ensemble presents mini concerts for the aging, those with disabilities and their caregivers – the Griffon is adapting for this new outreach opportunity

“The Griffon’s mission is ‘Captivating every generation, bringing music to our complete community, and to educate, enrich and excite,’” said Allyson Fleck, executive director of Midsummer’s Music, “so this exemplifies our mission that it’s every generation.”

Project: Music Heals Us is a nonprofit organization that seeks to provide encouragement, education and healing through sharing high-quality live-music performances and interactive programming with marginalized communities that have limited access to it.
