“Guys on Ice” Comes to TAP

The Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay will present three performances of American Folklore Theatre’s Guys on Ice on Jan. 9, 10, and 11. Each performance will begin at 7:30 pm.

Conceived by Fred Alley and Frederick Heide and featuring music by James Kaplan, Guys on Ice centers on buddies Marvin and Lloyd as they spend a winter’s day in a shanty out on the ice, talking about life, love and Leinie’s. With musical numbers like “The Wishing Hole,” “Ode to a Snowmobile Suit,” “Fish is the Miracle Food” and “The One That Got Away,” Guys on Ice works not only as a serious anthropological study but as a musical comedy.

Since 1998, Guys on Ice has played to sold-out houses in Ephraim, Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay, Milwaukee and Madison and played for audiences as far away as California, New York and Oregon.

Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for students.

Tickets are on sale at the theater box office, 239 N. Third Avenue, Sturgeon Bay, 920.743.1760, Monday through Friday from 10 am – 3 pm and also one hour prior to the performance. Tickets are also available at Dancing Bear, 13 N. Third Avenue, Java on Jefferson at the corner of Fifth & Jefferson and online at http://www.thirdavenueplayhouse.com.
