Habitat Fruitcakes Now Available

Habitat for Humanity completed its annual fruitcake bake at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College on Oct. 29. About 32 volunteers spent roughly 200 hours mixing, baking, glazing and packaging the holiday treat. The sale of fruitcakes has become a significant source of revenue for Habitat, covering approximately 10 percent of the cost of a new Habitat home each year. Fruitcakes can be found at local retail outlets and also at many area churches. The price is $10. A list of retail outlets can be found at doorcountyhabitat.org. The Door County Habitat for Humanity office will also be selling them throughout the holiday season.
