Half Marathon Video Highlights Peninsula Beyond Race Day

The Door County Half Marathon has released a new video that highlights the amenities and activities participants can experience on race day and beyond.

Dave Eliot, the event’s co-founder, said the video is another step toward furthering the reputation of the county as a complete destination.

“We strive to put on a fantastic event not just to draw runners, but to showcase what makes this peninsula a world-class destination,” Eliot said. “This video showcases the arts, entertainment and silent sports we offer that few destinations can match.”

The video, produced by Brett Kosmider of Boreal Sky, can be viewed at http://www.doorcountyhalfmarathon.com. Over 300 runners have already registered for the fifth annual Door County Half Marathon to be run May 5, 2012 in Peninsula State Park. Early registration discounts are available through Jan. 31.

Silent Sports events drew more than 11,000 participants to Door County in 2011, that’s up from fewer than 5,000 just seven years ago. That includes 2,000 who participated in last year’s Door County Half Marathon and Nicolet Bay 5k.
