Hardy Gallery Announces 49th Annual Juried Exhibition

Ephraim’s Hardy Gallery will host an opening reception for the 49th Annual Juried Exhibition on Friday, May 27 from 5:30 – 7 pm, with the exhibit running through July 10. This annual exhibit will showcase new artworks in all media, created by local and regional artists of all skill levels.

All of the artwork chosen for inclusion in the exhibit is selected through a process of careful deliberation among a diverse panel of jurors, all of whom are active arts professionals in Door County. Jurors for the Hardy’s 49th Annual Juried Exhibit include Karsten Topelmann, Ed Fenendael, John Whitney, Paul Lurie and Robert Merline.

“Our preceding Wall-to-Wall Salon gives visitors to the gallery the chance to see all of the work submitted for the Juried Exhibition, and it’s exciting to have people come back to enjoy what the jurors have ultimately selected,” said Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, the Hardy’s executive director. “And, with all of the different types of media represented from painting, photography, ceramics, fibers, metalwork, to mixed media submissions – this show truly is a feast for the eyes.”

Awards selected by the jurors, as well as the popular “People’s Choice Award,” will be announced at 6 pm at the opening reception on Friday, May 27.

The Hardy Gallery, located on Ephraim’s historic Anderson Dock, is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm. For more information call 920.854.2210 or visit http://www.thehardy.org.
