Helm’s Demolition Slated to Commence Feb. 18

Helm’s Motel is coming down.

The contractor for the Helm’s Motel demolition has indicated that they will be mobilizing the first part of the week of February 18, with the first houses to come town later that week. The hotel will probably be done after the houses. If anyone is interested in contacting the contractor about specific salvage items in the buildings I have included his information below. The contractor is attempting to recycle as much of the buildings as possible – if there is something you want to discuss, Sister Bay Administrator Bob Kufrin urges you to contact him directly.

Mill Road will be blocked in front of the Motel for the duration of the demolition project and no through traffic will be allowed. Mr. Williquette has indicated that he will be working with the Fire Department to facilitate their training needs on the motel building prior to demolition actually occurring. Access to the site and property will be restricted for public safety
