Help Parks Achieve Fundraising Goals

Destination Door County (DDC), working in partnership with the Door County Community Foundation, launched the State Parks Grant Initiative to improve and enhance Newport, Peninsula, Potawatomi, Rock Island and Whitefish Dunes State Parks. The goal is to raise $150,000 per park, divided into three parts.

DDC committed the first $50,000 to each non-profit friends group at the five parks using room tax funds. This initial funding will be utilized for upgrades and improvements to their facilities.

The individual friends group at each of the parks has been asked to identify a larger project that will enhance their respective park. These groups will have a goal of raising $50,000 in donations from the community.

Once each friends group achieves its goal, DDC will match the community’s contributions and add the third $50,000.
