High School Home Construction Program Seeks New Project

The Door Kewaunee Business & Education Partnership (DKBEP), coordinating organization of the DKBEP High School Home Construction Program, plans to return to Kewaunee County for the 2015/16 school year to build the program’s ninth home.

The DKBEP is actively seeking a party motivated to have their new home built by the high school home construction program. To be considered for the project, desirable project features include: 1,300-1,800 sq. ft., ranch/one story level home, and a project that includes all components of residential construction (i.e. plumbing, HVAC, electrical, drywall/plastering, finish carpentry, etc.).

The high school home construction program provides an opportunity to grow the local construction industry’s skilled workforce by providing real-world learning experiences for area youth. Up to fifteen junior and senior Kewaunee County high school students will have the opportunity to construct a home from start to finish during the 2015/16 school calendar year.

Construction of the ninth program home would commence in August 2015 with the completion in May 2016. If interested, contact Tara LeClair at 920.743.3113 x205 or [email protected].
