Hike to Ida Bay Preserve

The Collins Learning Center at Crossroads at Big Creek is closed May 25 and 26 to participate in the Door County Festival of Nature and the Master Gardener Plant Sale. Crossroads is a partnering organization for the Festival and the Master Gardeners hold information presentations at the center. Even though the Collins Learning Center is closed, the trails and restrooms will be open.

Crossroads returns to normal programming May 27 with a hike at Ida Bay Preserve at 4 pm. Join the naturalist for a gentle ramble through the Ida Bay preserve. Often this time of year unusual plants, such as striped coral root, are found. Meet at the Zenith Street Entrance to the Ida Bay Preserve.

On May 28 at 1 pm, take a Walk to the Dock. Thanks to the efforts of the entire student body of Sunrise School, the trail to the dock at The Cove is freshly chipped. This hike visits the water and you can take in the wildflowers coming and going. Meet at the Parking Area at 20th Place, just off Utah Street.

All programs are free and open to the public. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan in Sturgeon Bay, is open daily 2-4 pm. For more information visit crossroadsatbigcreek.com.
