Honoring State Champs of ’89

The Southern Door County School District welcomes back the 1989 State Championship Football Team for its homecoming game with the Sturgeon Bay Clippers on Friday, Sept. 26, at 7 pm.

In addition to being introduced before the game, the 1989 team members are doing a fundraiser at the game for new football uniforms. A silent auction featuring signed NFL jerseys/helmets contributed by Jim Flanigan, Al Johnson, and Ben Johnson from Southern Door and Chris Greisen, Nick Greisen and Casey Rabach from Sturgeon Bay will be part of a silent auction. Six helmets and two footballs signed by the 1989 team will be raffled along with other NFL items by Door County players. Community members can also select a jersey number to sponsor for $100, or make a general donation made payable to the Southern Door Athletic Booster Club and sent to Jesse Harness at 6249 Vanwood Lane, Luxemburg, WI 54217.
