Hope Church Gallery Features Madonna Siles

“Rieboldt Creek Rushes” by Madonna Siles.

Madonna Siles is an expressionistic plein-air painter who endeavors to capture Door County’s dynamic energy and ever-changing light and color displays in nature. Her pastel paintings will be featured at the Hope Church Gallery in July.

Besides nature’s wonders, Siles enjoys painting to live music at outdoor concert venues such as Birch Creek or Peg Egan Performance Arts Center. In addition, Siles photographs the landscapes of northeast Wisconsin and Arizona. She uses the camera to help frame her plein air painting subjects and to help capture the elusive light and shadow play.

Siles’s artwork has been included in juried shows at the Miller Art Museum, the Hardy Gallery, Rahr West Art Museum (Manitowoc) and the Water’s Edge Artists (WEA) 2012 and 2013 art calendar competitions. She is a member of the Door County Outdoor Painters, Water’s Edge Artists and Door County Art League (DCAL). She is a volunteer member at the Miller Art Museum and member of the Hardy Gallery.

Her artwork is on display at Alley Katz boutique in Sturgeon Bay and seasonally at the Door County Art League Gallery at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek.

The Gallery at Hope Church, located at 141 South 12th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, is open 9 am – 2 pm Monday through Friday, and 9 am – 1 pm Sunday.
