Obituary: Madonna Margaret Siles

May 10, 1949 ~ August 6, 2021

Madonna Margaret Siles died peacefully, Friday morning, August 6, 2021 at the Pete and Jelaine Horton Skilled Nursing and Hospice Care Center at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.

Madonna saw the beauty and felt the energy of Door County everywhere she turned and was able to express that through her many oil pastel paintings. She truly loved Door County. Madonna also authored three books: “Brain Heal Thyself”, “Eureka! Memories and Motivations” and “Searching for Surprise”.  She managed to cope with what ever happened to her and expressed that through her art.

Madonna was born on May 10, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Stephen Vincent Siles and Mary Adrienne (Brumleve) Siles. She attended St. Scholastica High School and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Communications and an emphasis in Advertising. She lived in suburban Chicago for many years, then moved to Sedona, AZ before settling in Door County, WI (Baileys Harbor and Sturgeon Bay) for the past twenty years. She had a deep affection for the friendships, culture, and creativity she found in Door County.

Madonna will be fondly remembered for having a magnetic personality, never being at a loss for words and never afraid to express her honest opinions. She was a great communicator. Madonna was also a diehard Chicago sports fan, and she especially loved the Chicago Cubs. Among her other interests were volunteering in the community, supporting community art fairs, and displaying her works of art.

Madonna is survived by her partner of twenty plus years, Dana Kasprzyk. Dana will be forever grateful for Madonna’s strength and determination to help her recover from a severe medical incident. Madonna’s memory will also be carried by her brother, Steve (Nancy) Siles of Cary, IL; nephews, Andrew and Michael Siles, both of Chicago, IL; cousins, Gloria Muczynski of Tucson, AZ,  Gary (Sharon) Melbye of Huntley, IL, Robert (Patricia) Melbye of Lisle, IL; and her many friends.

Madonna was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and many aunts and uncles; and cousins.

Memorial service arrangements are pending at this time. Huehns Funeral Home, Inc. & Door County Crematory LLC in Sturgeon Bay are caring for Madonna and her family.

The family requests, on behalf of Madonna, that everyone take time to enjoy the beauty around you, appreciate nature and support the arts.

The family truly appreciates the staff and doctors at Door County Medical Center and Skilled Care Facility for their countless hours of support for Madonna and her entire family.

Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Madonna may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
