Hotz Photographic Legacy Debuts at Old Town Hall

The public is welcome to view the “Love of the Land: Historical Photographs by Ferdinand Hotz” collection from noon – 5 pm, June 7 through June 12 at the Old Town Hall in Fish Creek during the fourth annual Heritage Days. On Monday, June 6 at 7 pm, the great grandson of Ferdinand Hotz, Dr, Keibard Apfelbach, will share information he has written about Hotz’s legacy. The Gibraltar Historical Association (GHA) is proud to present the photographic legacy premier of Hotz’s photographs. The 31-piece collection will feature landscapes and quaint Door County village scenes in sepia tones, color washes and black and white. Born in Germany in 1868, Hotz traveled to the United States as a young man to work in the jewelry business in Chicago. With great attention to detail, Hotz established his own business and traveled extensively in Europe as well as to Door County. Hotz owned an extensive portfolio of land in the county.
