HUMOR

Peninsula Pulse Senior Correspondent Bjorn Bakken sorts the news from village hall as the political process unfolds in Door County. While not always present, no meeting, nor their agendas, get past Bakken’s typewriter. Here is his dispatch, filed from Ephraim, October 8, 2008:

The Ephraim Common Council and members of Fire District number one met with representatives of the Ephraim Downtown Booster Club, but took no action on a proposal to sod the roof of the village hall and to introduce a number of sheep to eat the grass.

As an alternate, goats would be placed on the roof, but the council quickly rejected this in favor of sheep.

Babs Swensen reported that someone had made off with her entire Halloween display, including both pumpkins.
