Interfibers Studio features Apparel Made in Guatemala on Nov. 24

As part of Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, from 10 am – 4 pm, Interfibers Studio Gallery will offer 25-50 percent off apparel made through a nonprofit mission project in Guatemala.

Wendy Carpenter, artist/owner of Interfibers Studio Gallery, works with the indigenous weavers of Guatemala during the winter months. She teaches the Mayan weavers how to design and sew contemporary jackets with their traditional hand-weaved fabric. Carpenter created her fair trade project, “Creating Revenue through the Arts,” nine years ago. The project started with simple bag designs and evolved to finely crafted apparel. Her work with the Mayan weavers provides a specialized skill and a higher standard of living for the women, their families and the Mayan communities.

Interfibers Studio Gallery is located at 9204 Silk Road in Fish Creek. For more information call 920.868.3580 or email [email protected].
