Jacksonport Farmers Market to Start mid-May

Jacksonport will have a farmers market this year and it’s scheduled to begin May 16. Local growers find that they have early varieties and look forward to greeting regular customers as soon as they will have produce available. The Jacksonport Farmers Market will be held at Lakeside Park on Tuesday mornings. It’ll be held through October as weather permits. The weekly vendor fee is based on a percentage of sales with a maximum of $25 per week to encourage participation.

The market is based on a 70/30 percent balance between farm products and other products. There is always room for more farm and garden produce but there is a waiting list for arts and crafts entries.

Most market days will have live entertainment. The entertainment will begin as the weather warms and is more agreeable to outdoor venues. The Jacksonport Farmers Market is sponsored by the Jacksonport Area Business Association.
