Joshua Davis Plays Last White Gull Concert Of The Season

Singer-songwriter Joshua Davis will finish off this year’s winter concert series at the White Gull Inn on April 24, 8 pm.

Davis was already a prolific touring and recording artist when he got a call from NBC’s The Voice in 2008. He was a soloist as well as a member of Steppin’ In It, a band featured at White Gull Inn in 2007 and 2010.

Unfamiliar with the show, he initially rejected the inquiry, but the producers were persistent. After being convinced by his wife and allowed to skip the auditions, Davis signed up for six months in the national TV spotlight.

A top three finalist that season, Davis went on to sing high-profile duets with Sheryl Crow and Adam Levine and became the first artist to sing an original on the show. He has also shared the stage with folk-music icons like Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Greg Brown and Abigail Washburn.

Sage, a group of songwriting students from the Michigan art boarding school Davis teaches at in Michigan, will open for Davis. The group from the esteemed high school, Interlochen Arts Academy, will perform an intimate, harmony-heavy set that reassures audiences the future of music is in good hands.

The 8 pm concert will be preceded by an optional fixed-price dinner at 6 pm.

Tickets cost $30. While they can be purchased at the door, advance ticket purchase is recommended as most shows sell out. To reserve your spot, call the White Gull Inn at 920.868.3517 or visit them at 4225 Main St. in Fish Creek.
