Kaden Nelson-Hein Awarded Schmelzer Scholarship

The fifth Steve Schmelzer Memorial Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, was awarded to Kaden Nelson-Hein on June 1 during the Sturgeon Bay School District’s senior award ceremony. Steve Schmelzer positively affected many students throughout his 25-year social studies and coaching career at Sturgeon Bay School District. 

This scholarship is available to students who exhibit good character and sportsmanship, are interested in world happenings, and are open and curious about diverse ways of thinking – and Nelson-Hein has shown a passion for history, government and community.
