Learn about Sustainable Farming at Crossroads Presentation

The Clean Water Action Council of Northeast Wisconsin is presenting, “Preserving Door County’s Sense of Place While Promoting Sustainable Farming” featuring authors Lisa Kivirist and John Ivanko on Oct. 28 at Crossroads at Big Creek, 2041 Michigan St., Sturgeon Bay. A meet-and-greet will be held at 6 pm, with the presentation beginning at 6:30 pm.

Lisa Kivirist and John Ivanko are co-authors of the award-winning book ECOpreneuring as well as Homemade for Sale, Farmstead Chef and Rural Renaissance. This husband-and-wife duo are also farmers and innkeepers of the award-winning Inn Serendipity Bed & Breakfast and Farm outside Monroe, Wis., completely powered by the wind and sun.

The authors will share key ingredients to cultivating a healthy, vibrant and economically prosperous future for Door County. From “pizza farms” to pastured poultry, from farm bed and breakfasts to farm-to-table dinners under the stars, innovative entrepreneurs foster creative economic solutions that both preserve Wisconsin’s sense of place and provide innovative ways to connect the public to the farm.
