Learn to Serve on An Effective Board of Directors Oct. 17

The Door County Community Foundation, The Raibrook Foundation, and United Way of Door County will present the latest in their nonprofit education series Effective Boards of Directors.

Join them on Oct. 17 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, located at 1756 Michigan St., Sturgeon Bay. The schedule for the morning is 8 am registration and refreshments, followed by the workshop 8:30 – 11:45 am.

This training is appropriate for nonprofit board members and top management. Topics to be covered include: the role of a board in a nonprofit, governance vs. management, two-way communication, working committee structures, and board fundraising and friend-raising.

Nancy Brown will be the guest speaker. Nancy has more than 18 years of experience working as a professional fundraiser and has spent more than 25 years working in a nonprofit setting.
