Letter to the Editor: Didn’t Vote? Don’t Complain

Didn’t Vote? Don’t Complain

The news reports show that the number of people voting in this election in Wisconsin, and I expect in other places, is down considerably from the 2012 election. I am writing this letter on Veterans Day and it reminds me of the sacrifices that some of us made to insure the freedom we have and one of those is the right to vote. It is the only way most of us have to influence changes in government that we think are needed. Millions of people around the world would give anything to be able to vote into office those they want to govern. If you were eligible to vote and could have but didn’t you should be ashamed and you, by not voting, have relinquished any right you have to complain about any action taken by our government.
