Letter to the Editor: The Party of Lincoln

After viewing Meet the Press June 5, it’s quite clear the Republican Party is lacking integrity and conscience. Mitch McConnell stated that it’s all about winning. He reminded me of Al Davis, the late owner of the Oakland Raiders (“Just win, baby”) – the bullies of the AFC. Now the Republican Party has theirs. Not only is he a bully, he is an unstable narcissistic, racist bigot. When it came time for the Republican politicians and leaders to respond with integrity and good conscience, they chose to endorse the bully. As one member of the panel remarked, it might cost the Republican Party one or two generations of Hispanic and African American voters to recover from this debacle. Come November and the future, we will all reap what they have sown.
