Door County libraries are delivering focused on the theme Celebrate Wisconsin in 2022. Events will highlight what’s great about the Badger State in anticipation of the 175th anniversary of its statehood in 2023.
Door County Reads will start the celebration by featuring Wisconsin writer Michael Perry. The celebration continues with a panel of Wisconsin writers and those who support them, a BadgerTalk session about the different types of English spoken in the state, a Sconnie trivia contest, a panel with Door County EMS professionals and firefighters, and a long list of additional events.
In May, Terese Allen will visit Door County to talk about supper clubs. Allen is involved in the Wisconsin Historical Society’s speakers bureau and has published several books about food in Wisconsin.
