Celebrate Water With Door County Libraries

Door County Library brings back Anne Moser, senior special librarian from the UW-Madison Wisconsin Water Library, along with Tamara Thomsen and Tori Kiefer, maritime archaeologists with the Wisconsin Historical Society, for a series of hands-on talks and activities throughout Door County libraries celebrating water during the week of June 11.

Programs for children range in age from 3 years old to 5th grade with topics including a trip around the water cycle, exploring fish of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior, plastics in the Great Lakes, and shipwrecks. Many of the programs have hands-on activities where kids can have fun while learning.

For the adults, Plastics in the Great Lakes is an introduction to the science of plastics in our Great Lakes, discussing ways you can prevent it. And Shipwrecks of Door County includes underwater video, historic photographs and archaeological discoveries.

Visit DoorCountyLibrary.org/water for dates, locations, and more information about the events.
