Mayra Moreno and Elias Valdivia, Sturgeon Bay, are the parents of a son born on Oct. 16, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Maternal grandparents are Ramana Delgadillo Delgadillo, Mexico, and Vidal Moreno Alvardo, Mexico. Paternal grandparents are Maria Jauregie Sanches, Mexico, and Wileltardo Valdivia Garcia, Mexico.

Tom and Christy Reisen, Fish Creek, are the parents of a daughter born on Oct. 16, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Maternal grandparent is Ron Kane, Sister Bay. Paternal grandparent is Deborah Reisen, Fish Creek.

Jenny and John Brandenburg, Sturgeon Bay, are the parents are the parents of a son born on Oct. 14, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Maternal grandparents are Jeff and Pam Meyer, Oshkosh. Paternal grandparents are Jan Brandenburg, Oshkosh, and the late Nancy Brandenburg.

Kristin Blankenheim and David Varney, Baileys Harbor, are the parents of a son born on Oct. 13, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Maternal grandparents are Randy Thompson, Edgerton, Wis., and Jan Cashin, Madison. Paternal grandparents are Judy Varney, Curtiss, Wis., Edwin Varney, Henderson, Nev.

Karen Ann Virlee

Sept. 19, 1947 – Oct. 20, 2014

Karen Ann Virlee, 67, of Sturgeon Bay, died Oct. 20, 2014, at The Gathering of Door County – Assisted Living with family at her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Bob Karuhn as celebrant. Karen will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 am until the time of Mass. Loretta Bernice Brauer

Loretta Bernice Brauer, 91, of Sturgeon Bay, died, Oct. 20, 2014, at Pine Crest Village in Sturgeon Bay. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Institute with Fr. Robert Konkol, OFM as celebrant. Katie Kruger

June 2, 1991 – Oct. 19, 2014

Katie Kruger, 23, of Sturgeon Bay, died on Oct. 19, 2014, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. She was born on June 2, 1991, in Two Rivers to Ronald and Trudy (Calkins) Kruger. Katie graduated from Southern Door High School in 2009, and was currently a student at NWTC. She was employed at Ministry Door County Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted at Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at 5 pm. Visitation begins at 2 pm. Paul Douglas Ford Sr.

Oct. 1, 1936 – Oct. 18, 2014

Paul D. Ford Sr., 78, of Sturgeon Bay, died Oct. 18, 2014, at his home surrounded by family. Paul served in the Coast Guard 20 years, retiring in 1979. His second 20-year career was as the Assistant Door County Veterans Service Officer. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, Oct. 25, at Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church. Ralph G. Uecker

April 26, 1925 _ Oct. 15, 2014

Ralph G. Uecker, 89, of Forestville, died at Oak Creek Assisted Living in Algoma on Oct. 15, 2014. Ralph owned his own farm equipment business in Maplewood for several years and then purchased the farm implement business in Forestville in 1971, establishing Ralph Uecker and Sons Inc. After retirement, Ralph built many homes in Sturgeon Bay. Ralph loved playing baseball and was proud of the fact that he played ball until he was 78 years old. Services were held Oct. 18. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

Lawrence “Larry” Kinnard

Sept. 3, 1943 – Oct. 13, 2014

Lawrence “Larry” Kinnard, 71, of Brussels, died on Oct. 13, 2014. Larry served his country in the U. S. Army from 1964 – 1968, and then worked as a farmer for most of his life. Survivors include two sons, Tim Kinnard and Tom Kinnard, both of Kewaunee; three brothers, Don Kinnard, Brussels; Wayne (Sue) Kinnard, Brussels; David (Amy) Kinnard, Sturgeon Bay; three sisters, Caroline (Chris) Demmin, Sturgeon Bay; Marilyn (Ceylon) Anderson, Sturgeon Bay; and Patricia (Tim) Kruse, Algoma. Private family services will be conducted at the Forbes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Skip Diaz

Feb. 17, 1944 – Aug. 30, 2014

Skip Diaz, 70, passed away at home in Aiea, Hawaii, on August 30, 2014. Skip and his wife Mary spent time at their home near Valmy and Hawaii. He was a familiar face swimming at the YMCA and golfing shoeless at Cherry Hills with his friends. Those who knew Skip were always greeted with the mightiest hand shake and hug ever felt. They both were as big as his heart. Services were held on Sept. 26 at Central Union Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. Committal at Hawaiian Memorial Park, Kaneohe, on Sept. 29, 2014.
