Local Film Wins Three Awards

Confessions of a Sailor, a feature film created in Door County, recently brought home awards from two international film festivals and one stateside competition.

The movie won an award in the Narrative Feature category at the Madrid International Short Film Festival, where it made its European premiere. It later won an award for Best Short Film at Colossus Film Festival in Paris and a Miami Film Critic Award for Best Religion Film.

Confessions of a Sailor was directed and produced by Kurt Krauss. It was filmed mainly in Sturgeon Bay and has received a total of seven awards since premiering at the Door County Short Film Festival in February 2023.
