Locavore Dinner and Cooking Class Slated at Kristofer’s

The Inn at Kristofer’s has announced that their May 13 gourmet dinner and cooking demonstration will be locally focused.

The “Locavore Gourmet Dinner and Demonstration Cooking Class” includes a five-course dinner, featuring ingredients from Door County and Wisconsin, two glasses of wine selected by co-owner Chris Milligan, champagne upon arrival, plus a one-hour cooking demonstration by co-owner and executive chef Terri Milligan.

“Spring in Door County means our delicious, fresh, local ingredients are on their way to our menu,” explained Chef Terri Milligan. “Door County asparagus as well as locally foraged ramps, from my own backyard, as well as morel mushrooms should be popping up soon – and here at Kristofer’s we are excited to again be incorporating these delicious items in our dishes.”

To start, patrons will enjoy a Door County Kir made with champagne and Door County cherry juice coupled with a chef’s choice of amuse bouche (small appetizer samplings) composed of locally picked ingredients.

The five-course dinner will include an appetizer of Washington Island flatbread with caramelized fennel, shallots, Wisconsin made fresh mozzarella and herbs. The evening’s salad will feature Wisconsin made cheese followed by a homemade sorbet cleanser. The main course will be fresh Columbia River Salmon topped with Door County asparagus, ramps and, hopefully, morels! For dessert, Chef Milligan will treat participants to her individual brown sugar meringue baked Alaska made with homemade Door County cherry ice cream.

The “Locavore Gourmet Dinner and Demonstration Cooking Class” is slated for Friday, May 13 at 6 pm. The cost of the event is $69. To register call Kristofer’s at 920.854.9419. For more information visit http://www.innatkristofers.com.
