Fuller Contributes To Phoenix Victory

Cam Fuller, a 2008 graduate from Sevastopol High School and current freshman on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s golf team, recently had an impressive showing in his college debut at the Erv Kaiser Invitational in Oxbow, North Dakota. His individual score of 220 (70-72-78) not only contributed to a tournament team victory, but also assisted the Phoenix in breaking two school records.

Fuller finished fourth out of his team’s five-man roster, lifting UWGB to a solid 28-stroke victory. Eight teams competed in the 54-hole tournament on September 21 and 22. On Monday, the Phoenix fired a 14-under-par (562) to establish a new school 36-hole scoring record. After Tuesday’s results, it marked the first time in school history in which the UWGB men’s golf team had won two consecutive tournaments.

Big Guns Played in the Orchard’s Big Cup

The Orchards Golf Course hosted its first ever “Big Cup” scramble tournament on Sunday, October 4, aimed at raising money for the Egg Harbor Men’s Club. Attempting to beat the incoming inclement weather, the 31 foursomes finished play at the brisk pace of only four hours.

With an impressive gross score of 17 under, the team of James Larsen, Chris Larsen, Fred “Fredo” Wahlen, and Tommy “Chicago” Bronnie took home the tournament’s bragging rights. The team of Jim Johnson, Mark Vandertie, Ray Foss, and Clark Kent finished with the tournament’s top net score of 52. Jason Fuller’s team won the only two skins of the day, both with chip-ins for eagles on holes one and 14.
