Medical Center Auxiliary Names New President

During the June Door County Medical Center Auxiliary board meeting, Maribeth Hetherington turned over the reins of auxiliary president to Bruce Shewchuk.

Hetherington spent 33 years as a nurse in numerous clinical, management and leadership positions. Door County Medical Center enticed her out of retirement to become its chief change officer, an eight-year role during which she focused her efforts on continuous-improvement initiatives to empower employees and help them feel valued and a part of the medical process team. 

Hetherington will remain on a transition committee for the House and Garden Walk, led by Wendy Walker. The committee’s goals are to maintain interest in the July 2021 walk and find new ways to acknowledge and support the walk’s sponsors.
