Monfils Wins Two Conference Swimming Titles

Door County United’s Jack Monfils won two individual events at Saturday’s Eastern Wisconsin Conference meet hosted by Kiel.  

Monfils, who placed first in both the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 3.86 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:01.59) with a pair of personal-best times, ended up receiving all-conference honors in four events by also being part of DCU’s two relay teams that placed second.

He joined Ezra Linnan, Luke Filar and Logan Filar in the 200 medley relay (1:47.34) and Linnan, Luke Filar and George Atwell in the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.05).

DCU’s other runner-up finish was recorded by Logan Filar in the 50 freestyle (23.89). He added a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle (52.37). 

Linnan placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:00.88) and also joined Atwell, Luke Filar and Logan Filar to finish third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:49.08).

In the team standings, Kiel and Brillion/Valders/Chilton tied for first with 112 points, followed by Two Rivers/Roncalli (74), DCU (69), Plymouth (36) and Berlin (18).
