Neighbor to Neighbor Receives Nonprofit Grant

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded a nonprofit grant of $3,175 to Neighbor to Neighbor to support local veterans and their families through their medical equipment loan program with the purchase of five standard wheelchairs and two bariatric-sized wheelchairs to accommodate individuals weighing up to 500 lbs. Scott McFarlane and Beth Wartella of the Door County Veterans Service Office assisted Neighbor to Neighbor with securing the necessary letters of support from local veterans organizations that allowed them to apply for available state grant funds. Neighbor to Neighbor regularly serves both local veterans and those visiting Door County. The organization also works with local veterans to donate items no longer used in Door County to be rehabbed and used by veterans through the Veterans Facility in King.
