New Children’s Book By Local Author

Local author J. K. Palmer has released her fourth children’s book, Sweet Dreams From Door County.

The book includes seven stories for readers ages 6-11. Its whimsical cast of characters include a curious moose, a singing chicken, a boy with magic boots, a wannabe cave-dweller, a water droplet on a long journey, an ambitious young maple tree and a house that longs for its lost family.  

Palmer’s stories are paired with illustrations by Emily Purdy and Dezaray LeRoy, two recent graduates from Southern Door High School.

The book will be available at most Door County gift shops and bookstores starting in May. 

On May 25, 1-3 pm, Palmer will read from Sweet Dreams at Novel Bay Booksellers,  44 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay. She’ll also be featured at Yardstick Books, 317 Steele St. in Algoma, during an event on July 5, 5-8 pm.
