Newport House Gallery Introduces Polly Joubert

Painting by Polly Joubert.

Newport House Gallery in Ellison Bay is pleased to introduce painter Polly Joubert to the Door County art scene. Joubert has created a series of detailed and historically researched paintings of Door County lighthouses. Joubert’s paintings depict the lighthouses in their late 1800s setting, and the families who resided there.

Joubert is a graduate of Concordia University, with a degree in elementary education, and a concentration in art. Inspiration for her work comes from her love of history.

“I love history, old buildings and details,” she says. “These elements combine in my paintings to set the stage for telling a story. The people, the families, and the animals that inhabited these spaces bring life to my work.”

Each of the original paintings has been reproduced as Giclee prints in limited numbers and the story of each lighthouse is included with the paintings.

In addition to exhibiting her work at the Newport House Gallery, Joubert’s “A Wedding At Eagle Bluff-1900” is on display at the Hardy Gallery in Ephraim.

Newport House Gallery is located at the corner of Highway 42 and Lakeview Road in Ellison Bay. The gallery is open daily, except Tuesdays. For more information call 920.854.2621.
