Northern Door Parkinson’s Monthly Support Group Meets Third Monday

During April – National Parkinson’s Awareness Month – Northern Door Faith Community Nurse Bonnie Mirkiewicz will add a second Parkinson’s support group to Door County. This group will be held at Stella Maris – Sister Bay Parish on the third Monday of each month from 12:30-2 pm. This group is open to anyone who has been affected by Parkinson’s Disease, their caregivers, family and friends.

In her role as Faith Community Nurse, Mirkiewicz serves residents in Northern Door through evaluation, health education, offering emotional and spiritual support, and providing advocacy and referrals to meet their needs.

Additionally, on the first Thursday of each month the Sturgeon Bay Parkinson’s Support Group, facilitated by parish nurse Carol Moellenberndt, meets at the Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church from 12:30-2 pm.
