Noted Author Jerry Apps to Speak at DCEC Annual Program

Jerry Apps, author and radio/TV celebrity will be the keynote speaker at the Door County Environmental Council’s 40th Anniversary Annual Summer Program. The free program will be held at 7 pm on August 25 at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall.

Apps, author of over 30 books featuring life in Wisconsin, is a frequent guest host on PBS, NPR, Discovery and A&E channels. He will be speaking about his memories and share stories of Wisconsin’s natural resources.

The program is expected to last about one hour with a questions and answers session following the presentation.

In addition to Apps’ appearance, the evening will feature the presentation of the “Door County Environmental Citizen of the Year” award to this year’s winner. Following the program, light snacks and refreshments will be served.

Those with burned-out compact fluorescent bulbs to dispose of can bring them along, securely wrapped, for free disposal courtesy of DCEC.
