Notes from the Grove

Welcome to the Notes from the Grove, providing Liberty Grove residents and visitors tid bits of information about goings on in town government.

• Committees have begun working on their budgets for the coming year. The Finance Committee has informed the various committees to work on a zero based budget – i.e. no increase over the current year. Citizens are encouraged to check the town calendar for upcoming committee budget meetings. The Finance Committee is meeting prior to regular board meetings as it works on the budget submissions from the committees. The final hearing on the budget is scheduled for Monday, November 15. It will begin at 6 pm in the Town Hall.

• The Fall Primary Election is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14. Voting is from 7 am – 8 pm at the Town Hall.

• The board approved a request of $100 as part of the town’s contribution to the startup of the Door County Scenic Coastal Byways Web Site.

• The Waterfront Committee received the go ahead to proceed with the necessary steps to secure project costs, funding, and possible location of the stairway project for Port des Morts Park. Their next regular meeting is at 7 pm Wednesday, September 22.

• The Plan Commission and Economic Sustainability Committee will be holding a joint session on Monday, September 20 at 7 pm.

• We are looking for anyone interested in joining the IT Committee. Please contact the town offices if you are interested.
