Obituary for Marion Florence Saulig

Marion Florence Saulig, 85, of Sister Bay, was called Home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2015, and was reunited with her husband, Richard. She was a resident at Hearthside CBRF, where she had been living the past two years.

She was born May 22, 1930, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Harry Fred and Irma Marie (Moegenburg) Leonard.

Marion attended high school in Milwaukee. After high school, she worked at Dutchland Dairy where she met the love of her life. On July 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Richard Joseph Saulig. They were blessed with over 59 years of marriage. Richard preceded Marion in death on November 7, 2011.

Marion was a sweet, caring, and giving person. Family meant everything to her. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and was Richard’s first mate on his charter boat. In retirement, they lived the dream residing in Hawaii for 21 years.

Her love will live on in the hearts of her three daughters, Kathy (John) Eldridge of Colgate, Kim (Dan Friend) Saulig of Hayward, Debra (Dave) Koch of Cedar Grove; son, Thomas (Cathy) Saulig of Algoma; son-in-law, Steve Sherman of Ephraim; 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was welcomed Home by her husband, Richard; daughter, Sue Sherman; sister and brother-in-law, Delores (Andy) Hicks; and brother and sister-in-law Donald (Maxine) Leonard.
