Obituary: James ‘Jim’ Wery

James “Jim” Wery, 75, of Luxemburg, passed away at Algoma Long Term Care Unit on April 5, 2018.  He was born July 29, 1942 to Edwin and Dora (Theys) Wery.  On Feb. 10, 1962, he married Jeannie Baudhuin in Namur.

Jim and Jeannie raised five children and farmed in Duvall for most of their lives.  Jim also worked for Hatco for a number of years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, playing cards, gardening and making lots of chicken booyah.

He is survived by his wife Jeannie, 5 children, Mike Wery, Milwaukee; Wanda (fiancé Charles Lucas) Hilsabeck, Sturgeon Bay;  Kevin Wery, Boston, MA; Jamie (Lonnie) Wery, Charlestown, IN; and Ryan (Jodi) Wery, Brussels; 6 grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Joppe, Nicole (Santosh Tumkur) Dellise, Ashley (fiancé Taylor Bley) Wery, Lexi Wery, Jackson Wery and Austin Wery;  2 great-grandchildren, Mason and Sophia Joppe; a brother Ken Wery (special friend Suzanne Piette), Green Bay; brother and sister-in-law Reggie and Nikki Baudhuin, Namur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Jim and Deloris Baudhuin and Marily Wery, and a special aunt Laura Theys.

Funeral services were held April 9 at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels with burial at St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery.
