Obituary: Kelly A. Fehl

January 10, 1972 ~ January 6, 2022

Kelly Ann Fehl, 49, of Carlsville, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Door County Medical Center.

Kelly was born January 10, 1972 to Karl and Mary (Jorns) Fehl in Sturgeon Bay. Kelly attended Sevastopol School and graduated with the class of 1990, where she competed as a gifted athlete and was a 9-time varsity letter recipient. She was a state champion in track and a conference champion in volleyball receiving that season’s only unanimous vote for all conference choice.

After high school, Kelly attended Marion College receiving a police science degree, and later, a practical nursing degree from NWTC.

Most recently, Kelly loved to watch her 7-month-old great niece, Gracie Mae. Prior to this time, she worked as a park ranger at Cave Point State Park and a school aid at Sevastopol High School, which she enjoyed before attending nursing school.

In her spare time, Kelly liked to be outdoors, working in her garden, and snowmobiling with the love of her life, Travis. Her most endearing quality was the motherly love she had for her family making sure everyone was well taken care of beyond herself.

Kelly will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Mary Fehl; fiancé, Travis Krauel and his sons, Dominic and Kevin; three siblings [and their families], Keith (Patti) Fehl [their sons, Josh (Becky) Gunnlaugsson, Jason and Ryan Fehl], Kim (friend, Brian) Anschutz [her children, Alex Anschutz and Kaitlyn (Todd) Polster], Kirk (friend, Kim) [their children Josh, Hunter, and Hannah]; and great niece and nephews, Grant, Lincoln, and Grace.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A funeral service to honor Kelly’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Huehns Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 pm. Services at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday will be broadcasted live on Facebook.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Masks and social distancing are required for those in attendance.
